THE PRACTICE OF POSSIBILE

Jen Volmer is a strategist, musician, educator, yogi, and entrepreneur who has spent her career studying how possibility become reality — through sound, through brands, and now through the body.

Her first discipline was music. She began studying piano at age five and later trained as a violist at Interlochen Arts Academy with David Holland. She earned her B.M. at Eastman School of Music, where she was a student of John Graham, twice a winner of the Honors Chamber Music Competition and received the Excellence in Chamber Music Award with her string quartet under the guidance of Mikhail Kopelman. Her musical life has spanned orchestral performance, chamber music, touring, and teaching. Jen has performed throughout the United States and China, taught violin at New York University, and founded two ensembles, Amara Strings and Element5. She was also the original Co-Founder of the Highline Chamber Ensemble. She still plays chamber music and goes to concerts purely for the joy of it.

After Eastman, she earned an M.A. in Music Performance at NYU, taking special electives in Nonprofit Administration to move from performance into administrative work. Since then, she has worked in and with nonprofit organizations, eventually moving into corporate environments. Jen has build a career exploring perspectives on both sides of the table: as an agency strategist for clients including Google, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and the Michael J. Fox Foundation, and in senior in-house and executive roles at WPP's Superunion (now DesignBridge), Bakkt, Storm360, and PHNX Industry. Across both, she's drawn to a similar challenge: helping organizations get clear on what they're actually trying to do, then building the path that does it.

Alongside that career, she kept building on her own. She founded Motivv Consulting, led a series of independent creative and strategic projects, and later opened Yoga Muse, a yoga studio in New York City built around accessible practice and real community. Yoga became its own discipline of inquiry and a way of paying closer attention to the body, to attention itself, and to how practice can transform people.

Jen's deepening curiosity around somatic healing methods and the mind-body connection brought her back to school. She's currently pursuing graduate degrees in Yoga Therapy and Social Work, going deeper into both the individual and the systems people live inside. Increasingly, her work sits at the intersection of embodiment, wellbeing, creativity, and leadership.

Whatever the medium, whether a strategic framework, a piece of music, a yoga flow, an organization's growth, or her own ongoing education, Jen finds herself returning to how just about everything can be possible through practice.
